Fabienne is the girlfriend of Butch Coolidge, an aging boxer who double-crosses gangster Marsellus Wallace by winning a fight he was paid to lose. After the fight, Butch plans to flee Los Angeles with Fabienne. However, when they meet at a motel, Fabienne reveals she has forgotten to pack Butch's gold watch, a family heirloom that belonged to his father and was given to him by Captain Koons. This mistake forces Butch to return to his apartment, where he finds Vincent Vega, who has been staking out the place. Butch kills Vincent with a gun he finds on the kitchen counter. Later, after a confrontation with Marsellus in a pawnshop, Butch escapes on Zed's motorcycle, picking up Fabienne before leaving Los Angeles forever.

Fabienne is the catalyst for the film's central turning point. After Butch wins his boxing match, he meets Fabienne at a motel, expecting to flee the city immediately. That decision leads directly to him killing Vincent Vega in his own apartment, then being captured by Maynard and Zed in a pawnshop, and finally freeing Marsellus Wallace. After Marsellus tells Butch to 'leave town forever,' Butch picks up Fabienne on Zed's motorcycle, and they ride away together.
